The Wekesa Earth Center partnered with the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy to lead the Buffalo Eastside Teens In Frederick Law Olmsted Parks (BET In FLO) Program. 

BET In FLO selected and engaged 10 teens (14-17 years) from Buffalo, New York’s eastside, an area exhibiting significant nature gaps, with a 3-day, 2-night “Olmstedian Outdoor Experience" on July 13-15, 2025 at the Richardson Olmsted Campus.

• Provided a multi-site nature immersion to foster outdoor diversity and inclusivity

• Encouraged nature belongingness and restoration

• Advanced planetary stewardship among the next generation of environmental champions

• Explored the history of the Buffalo Olmsted Park System

• Learned and engaged with national and international nature experts
